USB Stereo Headset

Do USB stereo headsets have build it sound card in it ?

I have USB stereo headset, every time I plug it into my computer, it takes over my sound card input and out put. Do these kind of headsets (USB) have built in sound card in it ? If they do, can they be used as second sound card (of course with no in/out jack) ?

3. no they dont have a built in sound card, they have a virtual sound card with the software, a program will do the work of your sound card from your computer and convert all the data, and a few micro chips and some circuitry will use the signals so you can hear the sound. (if thereany good that is. lol)
