USB Stereo Headset

Can u use a computer headset for a ps3 console?

I want to buy a headset for my ps3 so i can tlk online and i went to walmart and saw they had some computer headsets but not any ps3 headsets so i was wondering if i buy a computer headset can i use it for the ps3 so i can tlk online.
