USB Stereo Headset

Do i need a sound card to get my headset for the computer to work?

The other day I bought a computer headset to talk to people online but i was unable to hook it up even though i turned on the mic in the audio options. I was wondering if i need a sound card or if there is something that i could of easily missed. If i need a soundcard then where do i put it?

1. I believe so Your computer should already have a built in soundcard did u install the headset make sure its working properly Try it out in more then just website. You might wanna ask a tech support person to install it it involves cracking open your computer
2. you need to configure it in the messenger IE yahoo msn skpye: what ever you use go to options in that messenger window and find mic/head set setup
3. your computer usually already has a sound card installed, integrated or not. if you can hear music from your external speaker it means you already have a sound card. try to adjust the setting for audio properties, control panel----->audio. and also setting up the software you use for chatting, they have a separate setting. above answer is for windows OS.
